My evolution as an actor began from the social and cultural environment I was steeped in at Jorhat and Tezpur. I have seen my father apply make-up on actors, prompt from the wings and even act. I have witnessed great artistes like Bishnu Prasad Rabha perform. I was, thus, drawn into acting, winning accolades and public acclaim along the way. But in my boyhood, I was very much into sports. I played cricket, table tennis and badminton while at J B College. Interestingly, when I was awarded a sum of money for my acting at a young age, it occurred to me that I could perhaps make a living out of it.
When you pursue acting, you become a part of society. That is why one must not only be a good person, but also do good to others. You are a beautiful part of society. Cherish each day and live fully.
