Kamrup(M) admin authorised to close down educational institutions, hostels if COVID-19 cases touch 1000: HBS

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today informed that the Kamrup-Metro district administration has been authorised to take a decision on closing down hotels and educational institutes if the daily caseload of the city touches 1000-mark.

Further, the minister said that the state government is ramping up COVID19 testing facilities by creating a screening center in every ward of Guwahati City so that people can get access to RTPCR or Rapid Antigen test without any hassle.

Meanwhile, Sarma also informed that a 7-day home quarantine has been made compulsory for all people travelling into Assam except government officials, people travelling for medical reasons and people with bereavement cases.
