Guwahati, Aug 2: Four personnel including one Constable and three Home Guards were suspended and discharged respectively in West Police District, Guwahati after video footage was seen on 14-07-21 and 29-07-21 showing the personnel collecting money from trucks moving on NH-37.
Upon receiving information about the clandestine activity senior police officials ordered an inquiry into the matter. Verification of the footage and further enquiries revealed the identity of the personnel.
The suspension orders were issued to UBC Dulal Kumar, while HG Nasir Ali and HG Ranjit Hazarika of Garchuk PS and HG Naba Kr. Kalita of Jalukbari PS was discharged from service.
