As many as 62 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Karimganj district on Sunday.
According to DIPR Karimganj, the total number of COVID-19 cases has reached 5,856 so far. The district has 710 active cases of COVID-19 and 48 persons have been discharged from hospital and home isolation on Sunday. On the other hand, the District Administration has declared five containment zones across the border town.
District Magistrate, Anbamuthan MP took the initiative to transfer the vaccine centre from the Government hospital to the Office of the District Sports. "The steps taken by the district authorities will help to reduce the general problems that crop up with vaccines," said an official.
