Mattel to honour Maya Angelou with a Barbie
The I Know Why the Caged Bird Singsmemoirist, civil rights activist, and poet passed away in 2014, but toymaker Mattel has found a special way to share her legacy with younger generations. As part of the company’s Inspiring Women series, a Barbie doll will be created in Dr Angelou’s likeness. According to the official description from Barbie, the doll “holds a miniature replica of her prolific autobiography, while wearing a head wrap and floor-length dress with floral print.”
Betty White celebrates 99th birthday with the re-release of The Pet Set
Veteran actor Betty White celebrated her 99th birthday with a blast from the past. “I am pleased to let you know about the re-release of my long-lost series after 50 years! I am just so proud of The Pet Set,” Betty said. On the talk show, White interviewed people like Burt Reynolds, Jimmy Stewart, Shirley Jones, etc. The guests brought along their pets and other animals – everything from zebras to eagles.
Jennifer Lopez denies cosmetic surgery
Singer and actor Jennifer Lopez hit back at plastic surgery rumours and has denied going under the knife for any procedures. She responded to a fan who commented on one of her Instagram videos where the person told her she “definitely” has botox. “LOL that’s just my face!!!” Lopez wrote. “For the 500 millionth time... I have never done botox or any other injectables or surgery!!”
