Day care cancer centres in all district hospitals announced
The government will facilitate the setting up of day care cancer centres in all district hospitals in the next 3 years. 200 centres will be established in the FY 2025-26 alone, the FM announced.
Expansion of medical education: UG, PG seats set to see increase
The FM announced that the government has added almost 1.1 lakh under graduate and post graduate medical education seats in the past 10 years, which is an increase of 130 per cent.
10 thousand additional seats will be added in the medical colleges and hospitals, the FM announced. The addition is slated for the next year. This addition will be a step taken towards the goal of adding 75 thousand seats in the next 5 years
Centre of excellence in AI for education announced with outlay of Rs 500 cr
The government had announced 3 centres of excellence in artificial intelligence for agriculture, health, and sustainable cities in 2023. The FM has now announced a centre of excellence in artificial intelligence for education will be set up with a total outlay of Rs 500 crores
Expansion of capacities in IITs announced
The FM stated that total number of students in the 23 IITs have increased by 100 per cent from 65 thousand to 1.35 lakhs in the past 10 years, and has announced the creation of additional infrastructure in the 5 IITs started after 2014 to facilitate the education of 6,500 more students. Hostel and other infrastructure capacity at IIT Patna will also be expanded.
Five National Centres for Excellence in Skilling to be set up with global expertise, partnerships
The government, building on the July 2024 budget, has announced that 5 national centres for skilling will be set up with global expertise and partnerships to equip the youth of the country with the skills required for the 'Make for India, Make for the World' manufacturing. Additionally, the partnership will cover curriculum design, training of trainers, and a skill certification framework, and periodic reviews.
Bharatiya Bhasha Pustak scheme proposed
The government has proposed to implement a Bharatiya Bhasha Pustak scheme to provide digital form of Indian language books for schools and higher education. This proposal is made to help students understand their subjects better and in their language
Govt secondary schools, PHCs to get broadband connectivity under Bharat Net Project
Broadband connectivity will be provided to all government secondary schools and PHCs (primary health centres) in rural areas under the Bharat Net Project, the government announced.

50 thousand Atal Tinkering Labs will be set up in government schools in the next 5 years to cultivate the spirit of curiosity and innovation, and foster a scientific temper among young minds.
Investing in people: Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0
The Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 programme provides nutritional support to more than 8 crore children, 1 crore pregnant women and lactating mothers all over the country; and about 20 lakh adolescent girls in aspirational districts and the North east region. The cost norms for this nutritional support will be enhanced appropriately, announced the FM.

The government highlighted that investment is the third engine of growth in the country; encompassing investing in people, investing in economy, and investing in innovation.
