Computer Shiksha Breaks New Ground with Free AI Video Courses in English & Hindi
Computer Shiksha, a preeminent non-profit organization, is dedicated to bridging the digital divide between “haves” and “have-nots” through technology. After launching its AI foundational video course in English last November, the organization has now introduced its much-awaited Foundational Course on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Hindi.
This landmark initiative is designed to break linguistic barriers for millions of learners from underserved schools and communities across India. The course is ideal not only for school students, but also for adolescents pursuing livelihood training, teachers seeking professional development, and youth across the Indian heartland looking to build future-ready skills.
Simultaneously, the organization unveiled a state-wide expansion into Assam, extending the reach of free quality computer literacy and future-ready AI skills to the nation's Aspirational Districts.
Breaking the Language Barrier in AI Literacy
Building on the success of its AI foundational video course in English, Computer Shiksha’s Hindi iteration comprises 12 self-learning videos in each module, purpose-designed for independent study.
To accelerate adoption in connectivity-deprived regions, the organization is providing the complete courseware free of cost, distributing physical USB drives to NGOs, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), and teacher training centres, ensuring that infrastructure constraints are never a barrier to learning.
Additionally, all videos are freely available on YouTube as open-access resources, allowing learners across India to download and study the course anytime, anywhere.
Growth Trajectory
Computer Shiksha continues its rapid growth trajectory, adding around 10 new schools daily to its program. In February 2026 alone, the initiative brought 80,677 underserved students across 377 new schools, further expanding access to computer literacy and AI education across India.
This consistent expansion reflects the organization’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and empowering students in both urban and remote regions.
Catalysing Change Across Northeast India and It’s Aspirational Districts
In the Northeastern states of India, Computer Shiksha is making significant inroads, operating across 8 states: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.
The initiative spans 64 districts out of 131 total districts, covering 299 schools. In Assam, Computer Shiksha is active in 21 out of 35 districts, reaching 109 schools. Of these, 63 schools are in Assam's Aspirational Districts, bringing quality computer literacy programs and future-ready AI skills directly to the students who need them most.
"Empowering underserved demographics with advanced technological literacy is a prerequisite for India's future. Through open access learning resources, we aim to ensure that students across the country are equipped with the digital skills required for tomorrow’s opportunities"
— Mr. Pradeep Marwaha, Director Programs, Computer Shiksha
